I bought the Escheveria "Ruby" this summer and fell in love with the flowers. I have mine in a pot. Do they do better in the ground?

What a great group of flowers you have in bloom there! I've got to find the Pineapple sage, it seems to be blooming lots of places. My little one picks off all the basil, never letting the plant get very big either. My roses are about done, hopefully the last few buds will get a chance to open.

Hi Rebecca!
I'm Tiziana, an Italian woman, alive in Sardinia, and I am impassioned of gardening.
It has come me the strange idea to open a blog with some Italian friends with which I share this passion. I have found by chance your blog, visiting other medium of it their links, passing through the blog of Catherine http://agardenerinprogress.blogspot.com and you has struck a lot me the pleasant aspect of your blog that I think I will often visit and I have already inserted him among mine preferred. I am as soon as beginning, I will put also your link in mine. Embraces from Sardinia!! tyziana

Oooh, the escheveria pic is my favorite too! I haven't had any problem overwintering my plectranthus outside (mona lavender! thank you for reminding me of her name!) I just cut it back and tuck it in a corner and it comes back great! My brugmansia was a dismal failure this year though, killed back the the stump and didn't even start putting out new growth until last month, no blooms for me this year. It's history! Thanks as always for the visit to your charming garden!

I absolutely love your pairing of the chrysanthemum with that oxalis. Delightful! The pineapple sage and majestic sage both grow beautifully in Austin too, though not as tall as they get in your garden. Too much heat, perhaps. My S. elegans stayed put at 1-1/2 ft., and S. guaranitica never gets taller than 5 ft. for me.

Ok, those pics make me want to pull up stakes and move! We're already past the colors and into the relentless browns of late Autumn. Thanks for sharing the beauty!

Lovely photos. The Turk's Cap is a new one for me. I'll have to look into that one a bit further. At first glance I thought it was an Abutilon.
